We can take any mp3, wav, or ogg file and import it into RiffWorks!!!

BACKING TRACKS — stereo wav, ogg or mp3 imported into a single long riff, sized to the file. You can then record your vocals, solos etc. in the songlayer, and utilize the RiffWorks effects and interface you know!

WAV OR MP3 SAMPLES INTO AN EXISTING SONG — need to import a wav or mp3 drumfill or instrumental fill into a riff?

We can do that!

Quick-start video Tutorial on using Backing Tracks

We can also break up mp3’s or wav’s into individual riffs if desired...it’s more difficult but do-able for an extra fee.  This can be useful if you have an mp3 that you would like to “re-arrange” for example.  I can also move individual layers from a riff into a different riff, if that killer lead is in the wrong riff or you want to reuse a bass line.  If you have a special need like this please contact us and we’ll be happy to quote it!

Time out, Gator-Studios!  I hear there’s a utility now that I can do this for free?

Yes you can!  Check out this thread at the Sonoma Forums to get the utility.  If you feel comfortable using it, I suggest you do (and make sure you send Amit a drummer for his hard work!).

So...why does Gator-Studios still do backing tracks in RiffWorks?

Great question!  Are you starting with an MP3, like most backing tracks are?  You’ll need to convert that to WAV.  How long does that riff need to be?  You’ll need to get your calculator out for that.  What should the BPM be? Hmmmm….what’s that? You really just want to jam?  You’re not done yet, you still need to create the riff, put the WAV into it (you did calculate enough bars, right?), go into RiffWorks, create a song, import the riff.  Do you feel more like a mathematician than a musician?

Or, drop a $5-spot and an MP3 on Gator-Studios.com and get a RiffWorks song file back, ready to jam on.  Rock out.  When you’re done send it back and have it mastered for another $5, so you can post it to Soundclick, MySpace or wherever else you impress your friends!

In case you are wondering...Gator-Studios does not use this utility for creating backing track files, we go straight into the song!
